Nariana VanDeventer

Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor

Nariana VanDeventer, CADC, MS is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with extensive experience in the treatment of dual diagnosis and co-occurring disorders. She holds a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology with an emphasis in Mental Health Applications from Walden University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Fresno. Her education and training support an integrated clinical and forensic perspective when working with complex mental health and substance use presentations.

With over 20 years of experience in community-based and clinical settings, Nariana has worked extensively with individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness, including co-occurring substance use disorders. Her professional background includes supporting clients with complex trauma histories, significant mental health symptoms, and high levels of system involvement. She has substantial experience collaborating with Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams, community mental health programs, and the legal and judicial systems.

Nariana practices from an integrated, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented framework. Her clinical approach emphasizes reduction of self-harm, stabilization, symptom management, and skill development while addressing mental health and substance use needs concurrently. She is committed to multidisciplinary collaboration and to providing compassionate, nonjudgmental care that promotes engagement, autonomy, and long-term recovery.
